Climate scientists, and other scientists or researchers with relevant expertise, are invited to participate, whether in academia, industry, government or NGO.
This research has been approved by the Carnegie Mellon University Institutional Review Board and is completely voluntary. Polls are incentivized to encourage participation and carefully considered responses.
This incentivized expert poll is designed to cut through the noise of scientific debate, and provide guidance to the public about climate risks – without waiting until possibly grave outcomes occur.
In addition to the main questions, expert participants also try to predict the predictions of others. These answers are used to determine how much each participant earns for the charity of his or her choice.
